Program Description
Yogic philosophical precepts of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, which detail moral and ethical growth and responsibility, are the underlying foundation of the system. Techniques are taught according to the methods developed by Shri BKS Iyengar which focus equally on strength, flexibility, stamina, and balance with an acute emphasis on correct alignment.
We highly encourage our students of every level to practice regularly between lessons. It is suggested that students should repeat each level of class, several times, before moving up. Please feel free to register for more than one class a week.

| Introductory - Class for beginners, those new to yoga and the Iyengar method $16 Level 1 - beginning students are introduced to the fundamentals of posture and breath $16 Level 1-2 - Continuing students who have completed two, or more Level 1 sessions. This level is ideal for those with previous yoga experience who are new to the methods of Iyengar. Headstand and other inversions are introduced $16 Level 2-3 - Continuing students who are firmly established in their practice and are able to hold inversions for 5 mins or more $16 NEW! Restorative Fridays - Decompress from your busy week with supported, recuperative yoga poses. Calm your nerves, quiet your mind, and rest deeply to refresh yourself for the weekend. All-levels and abilities welcome * NEW! Multi-Level Sundays- All levels and abilities are welcome at this high-energy class, accessible to those new to Iyengar Yoga, and fun and challenging for continuing Iyengar practitioners. Children age 7 and up are also welcome * |
| Early Bird - Surya namaskara, backbends, and inversions are emphasized in this morning practice. An engergetic practice which mentally stimulates and encourages the practicioner to tap into a positive upbeat mood. Students must have had previous yoga instruction, be currently enrolled in a regular session or must demonstrate a knowledge of the Iyengar method including variations, proper prop usage and safe self correction $16 |
| Gentle Yoga - Slower paced class with more modifications and props to accommodate older students or those with minor physical limitations $16 |
| Target Classes - Thorough and complete focus in various parts of the body to benefit both the structural and organic body (2hrs) $30 |
